On Saturday, December 14, ahead of the Serie A match between Cagliari and Atalanta, the pre-match festivities will be enriched by a captivating representation of one of the Island’s traditional Carnivals, that of Ottana (Nuoro). <\/p>\n\n
The traditional masks of the Ottana Carnival, including su Boe, su Merdule, and sa Filonzana, will come to life on the pitch of Unipol Domus, thanks to the adults and children of the “Boes e Merdules” Association. Through costumes made of hides and the rhythm of the bells, evocative scenes will be recreated, recalling ancient agrarian rites of blessing. The performance will culminate as the two teams enter the field for their warm-up. At the end, a representative of the Association, accompanied by a Cagliari player, will present the opposing team with a traditional artistic mask, specially crafted for the occasion. This will be a symbol of hospitality and cultural unity, reflecting the values of welcome and respect that football can convey. <\/p>\n\n
