{"id":26257,"date":"2026-08-21T21:30:54","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T19:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cagliaricalcio.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=26257"},"modified":"2026-08-21T21:31:01","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T19:31:01","slug":"fadera-joins-cagliari","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/cagliaricalcio.com\/en\/news\/fadera-joins-cagliari\/","title":{"rendered":"Fadera joins Cagliari"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cagliari Calcio are delighted to announce the signing of Alieu Fadera, who joins the Rossobl\u00f9 from Como on loan until the end of the 2026\/27 season, with an option to buy.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born in 2001 in Bakau, Gambia, Fadera began his career with Real de Banjul, where he quickly impressed and earned a place in the first team. In March 2020, he moved to Europe, joining Pohronie in the Slovak top flight. During the 2020\/21 season, he made 22 league appearances, scoring five goals. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the summer of 2021, he joined Zulte Waregem, beginning his experience in Belgian football. Over two seasons, he made 58 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists across all competitions. His performances earned him a move to Genk in the summer of 2023. There, he also had the opportunity to play on the international stage: during the 2023\/24 season, he made 35 appearances across the league, domestic cup and UEFA competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In August 2024, he was signed by Como, making his Serie A debut on 1 September against Udinese. A few weeks later, he scored his first goal in Italy&#8217;s top flight, helping Como to a 3-2 victory away to Atalanta. He finished his first season in Italy with 28 appearances, one goal and four assists.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the summer of 2025, he joined Sassuolo on loan. With the Neroverdi, he made a further 28 Serie A appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. One of those goals proved decisive in Sassuolo&#8217;s home victory over Lazio. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Gambia international, Fadera is a highly dynamic winger blessed with great pace and ability to drive forward. A natural right-footer, he can operate on either flank, although he prefers the left, from where he can take on opponents, cut inside onto his stronger foot or make runs in behind.
