It was a tough match against the Italian champions, with the Rossoblu struggling in the first half and then responding with greater courage and character in the second half. The coach emphasizes the team&#8217;s ability to stay in the game, the growth of the young players, and the work needed to continue building the new Cagliari.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>STAYING INTO THE MATCH<\/strong><br\/>&#8220;As I said beforehand, being perfect isn&#8217;t enough. In the first half, we struggled to close the gap, and they worked well around our pressure, like on the goal. In the second half, we settled in better and did what we had to. Credit to my players, but also to Inter, who are a very strong team.&#8221; A performance that, regardless of the result, leaves Cagliari with the knowledge that they were able to stay in the game: &#8220;We needed one goal to equalize, two to win,&#8221; the coach joked. &#8220;Jokes aside, Inter deserved it. Even though we moved well, they used their quality and physicality to move around us, and we struggled. We take home the fact that we stayed in the game. A team like ours must know how to lose when they can&#8217;t win or get points.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A MORE COURAGEOUS SECOND HALF<\/strong><br\/>Cagliari returned to the pitch after half-time with a different attitude: &#8220;In the first half, we were a bit timid, especially when we won the ball. When you have such a young team, you have to pay for it against the stronger players. In the second half, we changed a few things, managing the frenzy better and being less timid.&#8221; Tactical changes also contributed to the team&#8217;s growth: &#8220;We tried to pass the ball around less and be more physical. Paradoxically, we improved our ball handling. The substitutions? Those who say that when you get the substitutions right, you&#8217;ve got the wrong formation are right,&#8221; he smiles. &#8220;Jokes aside, by changing players in the second half, we also changed tactics, and things improved. It&#8217;s part of the strategy and the way we study matches.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A MENTALITY TO BUILD<\/strong><br\/>Staying in the game is one of the things that makes the coach most proud: &#8220;I always tell the boys to stay in the game. You can lose, but you have to do it the right way. What makes us proud is staying in the game, regardless of who&#8217;s in front of you. Today, that mentality allowed us to stay 0-1 down, and maybe then, with a certain spirit, you can take the incident on your side.&#8221;<br\/>The journey, however, is just beginning: &#8220;It&#8217;s early days on the second day, we need to work hard and be brave. Perhaps I&#8217;m criticizing my players for one small detail today, and that&#8217;s it. But it takes time and patience.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>EXPERIENCE AND YOUTH<\/strong><br\/>The growth of the team also involves the inclusion of more experienced players, called to accompany the many young people in the squad: \u00abWe are a young team, our policy is clear. We want to bring in more experienced players who can guide these guys in good times as well as in less good ones. I think of Gagliardini and others who arrived previously.&#8221; Among the young players, a special mention for Massolin: \u00abHe is coming off an excellent season, he is entering Serie A and we must put him in a position to express himself as we do with many others. Today we played with two 2005s behind us, which is nice, but our boys definitely need time and confidence.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>THE TRANSFER MARKET AND THE CLUB&#8217;S WORK<\/strong><br\/>Pisacane expressed satisfaction with the work accomplished in the transfer market, while keeping the door open for new additions: &#8220;I&#8217;m happy with the transfer market. The club knows, however, that there are still some things missing.&#8221; The goal remains to complete a young squad with players capable of bringing experience: &#8220;We&#8217;re trying to bring in some experienced players because we&#8217;ve lost some. Gagliardini can bring us experience and help the younger players, providing a point of reference for the players in the toughest moments.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>K\u00d6FLER, CIERVO, MENDY, AND MALDINI<\/strong><br\/>Among the new arrivals, the coach had some important words for Kofler: &#8220;He&#8217;s a strong player, he can potentially be a national team player: he&#8217;s physically strong, has good ball control, and is mentally strong. I think it&#8217;s just a matter of time. I&#8217;ve wanted him for a long time, and I&#8217;m happy the club signed him. We needed him in the second half; he came on very well and gave us what we needed.&#8221; Regarding Ciervo, a recent arrival: &#8220;He&#8217;d never trained with us. We&#8217;re working to grow together.&#8221; Mendy&#8217;s growth has also been positive: &#8220;He&#8217;s accelerated his development; he needs to be smarter and continue to apply himself as he always has.&#8221; Finally, Maldini, who played a highly demanding match, said: &#8220;He sacrificed a lot today, and he&#8217;s showing a great mentality.
