Wieteska to PAOK Thessaloniki
Cagliari Calcio announces the transfer of player Mateusz Wieteska, who moves to PAOK Thessaloniki on loan until the end of the 2024-25 season, with an option to buy.
Arriving in Sardinia in the summer of 2023, the Polish central defender made his debut for Cagliari on September 2 in the away match against Bologna, providing the assist for Zito Luvumbo’s goal. His initiative also led to the equalizing goal for the eventual 2-1 win, once again against Bologna, in the return match played at the Unipol Domus on January 14, 2024. In his first season with Cagliari, he played 21 matches, contributing to the team’s survival in Serie A. In this first part of the current season, he has featured 5 times, plus two matches in the Coppa Italia.
His career now continues in the Greek top tier, where he will seek more playing time and regular involvement.
