The story of the wonders of the Sinis Natural Archaeological Park continues in Verona. The event, organized in collaboration with Cagliari Calcio and F.A.S.I., featured two conferences dedicated to the archaeological treasures of the Sinis, hosted by the “Sebastiano Satta” Sardinian Association, on the eve of the Rossoblù’s match away to Hellas Verona.
This marks a new milestone for the Mont’e Prama Foundation as part of its joint communications campaign with Cagliari Calcio, in collaboration with F.A.S.I. On the morning of Saturday, October 25, the “Sebastiano Satta” Sardinian association hosted the Foundation’s conferences, which were met with great interest by the public. The conferences aimed to convey the story of the thousand-year history of Cabras and the Giants of Mont’e Prama.
The focus of the meeting was “Giants Before the Giants,” presented by Giorgio Murru, head of the Foundation’s scientific department, accompanied by evocative images by Nicola Castangia. Archaeologist Ilaria Orri then presented “The Sinis Natural Archaeological Park,” illustrating how the Sinis region represents a crossroads of cultures and heritage that continue to tell the story of ancient Sardinia.
“This is another special opportunity to share the history, values, and activities of our Foundation with the public,” said Anthony Muroni, president of the Mont’e Prama Foundation. “We are aware of how these networks of associations represent the quintessential bridge for dialogue between Sardinia and its communities around the world. The conference held today in Verona, during the Cagliari Calcio match and in collaboration with FASI, was another valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the historical, cultural, and archaeological heritage of the Sinis not only among Sardinian communities but also among a wider audience. Events like this demonstrate how sport and associations are fundamental tools for strengthening bonds, building new relationships, and promoting our identity beyond the island’s borders.”
“The Verona event represents a new chapter in an extraordinary journey that has now reached three years, yet remains relevant, modern, and explosive, characterized by significant results in terms of numbers and appeal,” says Matteo Sechi, Cagliari Calcio’s partnership manager. “We are therefore happy and proud to once again have the Mont’e Prama Foundation and the Giants at our side, a partnership that further demonstrates how football can be a driving force for cultural promotion, and which is leading us to work side by side to develop new projects, including abroad. Recounting our roots means giving strength and continuity to Sardinian excellence, so that it is not just a heritage, but a legacy that grows. Over the years, we have collected emotions at every Italian stage. Today, after the debut in Udine, we set off again from Verona to mark a new stage in a collaboration that last summer was expressed on the magical evening in Tharros in August during which the team was presented, while just a few days ago in Cabras, guests of the Foundation and the municipal administration, we inaugurated the new season of Cagliari Calcio.” Football Academy, a project without equal in professional football, now in its eleventh year. Tangible signs of continuous development and concrete actions, beyond words, are nonetheless important. Sardinia, history, sport, and the future: a unique vehicle for cultural richness that we want to share everywhere, through Cagliari’s away matches and the Club’s many other initiatives.
“This is a project we built together, with the Foundation and Cagliari Calcio, and which we continue to develop year after year,” says Bastianino Mossa, President of FASI. “Now we have the tools to continue this journey, focusing especially on engaging young people. I’m speaking especially to the third and fourth generations, because the richness of our historical heritage must be passed down, and we are able to do so because we have decided to join forces and push beyond the borders of Sardinia.”
