Pisacane opts for Luvumbo up front with Borrelli, Zappa, and Palestra wide, with Adopo, Prati, and Gaetano in the middle. Mina returns to defense with Luperto and Rodriguez in front of Caprile. TREPY’S EQUALIZER
A fierce battle and a constant search for the goal made for a tough match throughout, as expected. The match reached the 78th minute when Palestra fired wide from a good position after yet another fine attacking move. In the 84th minute, Yael Trepy, a 2006-born French product of the Rossoblu youth system who arrived in Sardinia at a young age, made his Serie A debut in place of Zappa. Audero miraculously saved Mazzitelli in the 86th minute after another assist from Borrelli following a Trepy cross. Cagliari pressed, but in the 88th minute, Trepy himself proved unforgiving with a powerful run and a superb left-footed strike to make it 2-2. Another turning point came in the 90th minute, with Luperto being shown a red card, but then the referee, using VAR, revoked the card and changed it to a yellow card as it wasn’t a serious foul. A tense and tense finale, but the scoreline remained unchanged, 2-2.
