
The award ceremony for Cagliari Calcio’s 3rd level Youth Club status for the 2024/2025 season, as part of the FIGC’s Youth and School Sector Quality System, took place at the CRAI Sport Center in Assemini.
The meeting was attended by the Regional Federal Coordinator of the Sardinia SGS Coordination, Lorenzo Cagli, the Technical Manager of Regional Development, Vincenzo Fadda, the Head of the Psychology Area, Dr. Eugenia Caldaro, and the Territorial Technical Manager of the Cagliari AST, Filippo Motzo.
Representing Cagliari Calcio were Oscar Erriu, Head of the Youth Sector, and Mattia Belfiori, Head of Grassroots Activities and the Cagliari Football Academy. “It was an opportunity to review the 4th level Gold Program for the current season, a project that supports professional clubs on a shared journey of technical, educational, and training development,” explained Coordinator Lorenzo Cagli.
This recognition further confirms Cagliari Calcio’s commitment to developing young players and its ongoing collaboration with the FIGC SGS Sardegna, as part of a football model increasingly focused on the athletic and personal growth of its players. Oscar Erriu, head of the Rossoblu youth academy, stated: “This recognition represents a further step in a journey that Cagliari Calcio pursues with conviction and continuity, focusing on the growth of young players not only from a sporting perspective, but also from a human and educational perspective. The daily work of the Youth Sector, in synergy with the FIGC and all stakeholders, is aimed at building a quality training environment capable of supporting young athletes on their development journey.”
