Cagliari Calcio has organized a series of events for the week of February 12th to 17th to pay homage to Sardinia’s carnivals. This rich program, which involves all areas of the Club with events on official channels and live, also includes performances by the Mamoiada and Oristano groups at the Unipol Domus stadium on the Monday evening before Cagliari-Lecce.

Cagliari was hosted by the Mamuthones and Issohadores of Mamoiada, who invited Club Ambassador Nicola Riva and Youth Sector Sporting Director Pierluigi Carta to their headquarters in the Barbagia area. They offered Cagliari an authentic experience in one of the island’s most iconic locations, where the ancient tradition of Sardinian carnival has been passed down from generation to generation. A delegation from the Cagliari Clubs of the Province of Nuoro and the Cagliari Coordination Center were also present at the headquarters on Via Galilei: Villagrande Strisaili, Lodine, Fordongianus, Orgosolo, Oliena, and Nuoro were the towns represented.

The Club honored the “Associazione Culturale Atzeni” of Mamoiada with an autographed match jersey and the “Islanders” kit, returning the hospitality with an official invitation to the Unipol Domus: Mamuthones and Issohadores will be at the stadium for Monday’s match against Lecce. They will perform pre-match with the “Sa Sartiglia” Drummers and Trumpeters group from Oristano, representing the island’s most important equestrian event. The Rossoblù stadium will be transformed into a shared space that pays homage to two vibrant cultures with strong local roots.

The Club’s social media channels will feature informative and promotional multimedia content about some of Sardinia’s most important carnival events. During the Cagliari-Lecce match, fans will be treated to complimentary Zeppole and Fatti Fritti (fried pastries). Furthermore, our partner Seconda Stella Eventi will provide face painting corners for fans near the turnstiles in all sections of the stadium.

The cover of Domus Rossoblù, distributed at the stadium and also available in digital format on the app, will be a collector’s item: designed by Tempio artist Azor Mari, the illustration will resemble a papier-mâché float inspired by the Tempio Carnival. The Club’s official magazine will also feature a special feature with photos and brief descriptions.

Cagliari invites its fans to arrive at the stadium well in advance to avoid missing any of the scheduled events.
