Como conquered Unipol Domus, defeating Cagliari 2-1 in a game played exceptionally well by the Rossoblu and decided by a brilliant goal from Da Cunha. Como took the lead in the first half through Baturina, conceded a second-half equalizer through Esposito, but finally found the decisive goal with a long-range effort from Da Cunha.
Pisacane chose Liteta to complete the midfield in place of Idrissi, with Folorunsho confirmed in attack alongside Palestra and Esposito. At Como, Fabregas has Baturina back, starting alongside Jesus Rodriguez and Nico Paz in the attacking midfield trio behind Douvikas.
The match started evenly, but Como took the lead in the 14th minute. Nico Paz won the ball back in the opponent’s half and tried to play it out to Da Cunha; the ball erupted in a back-and-forth that favored Baturina, who quickly found the space to beat Caprile. Cagliari remained unfazed and attempted to build patiently, increasing their center of gravity. The Rossoblu’s biggest chance fell to Sulemana, who, however, failed to connect from a favorable position. In the 36th minute, Fabregas was forced to make his first substitution of the match: Perrone was forced off with an injury following a challenge. Despite the playmaker’s absence, Como attempted to exploit the space on the counterattack: Da Cunha played a deep pass to Jesus Rodriguez, but the Spaniard squandered the opportunity with an inaccurate cross. The first half thus ended with the visitors leading by a narrow margin.
The second half began with no changes, and Como threatened right from the start: Jesus Rodriguez tried to capitalize on a mistake by Sulemana, but his shot sailed over the crossbar. Cagliari, however, continued to push and equalized in the 56th minute. Palestra broke down the flank and sent in a long cross to the far side, where Obert put the ball back in the center: Esposito rose to head it home to make it 1-1.
The game remained open until the 77th minute, when Como regained the lead. Van der Brempt joined the offensive play and passed Da Cunha on the edge of the penalty area. The Como captain unleashed a powerful, precise shot that beat Caprile and put the visitors back in front. In the closing stages, Cagliari attempted to push forward in search of an equalizer, but Como defended with order, and Butez confidently protected his penalty area. The score remained unchanged.
