Pietro Accardi is the new Sport Director of Cagliari

Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the appointment of Pietro Accardi as the new Sporting Director of the Club, who will remain with the rossoblù colors until 30 June 2029.

Born in Palermo, 43 years old, as a footballer he made over 250 appearances among the professionals with the shirts of Marsala, Palermo, Sampdoria, Brescia and Empoli. Here, after retiring, he began his managerial career: initially as Team Manager, then in 2016 – at just 34 years old – as Sports Director, a role he will hold until summer 2024.

Among the key architects of the Tuscans’ success, who in those seasons earned two promotions to Serie A and three relegation attempts from the top flight, Accardi immediately demonstrated his managerial skills: his work was invaluable both in managing and building the squad, adept at uncovering talent and identifying the best fit for the group, both footballingly and personally, thus fully realizing their potential. In the 2024/25 season, he served as Technical Director of Sampdoria.

A dynamic, ambitious, and charismatic player who enjoys working closely with the staff and team, Accardi will bring all his skills and professionalism to the Club.
