Fazzini joins Cagliari

Cagliari Calcio are delighted to announce the signing of Jacopo Fazzini from ACF Fiorentina on a loan deal with an option to buy.

Born in Massa, the 23-year-old came through Empoli’s youth academy, where he won the 2020/21 Primavera Championship. The following season he featured in the UEFA Youth League before breaking into the first team, making his senior debut on 19 January 2022 in the Coppa Italia against Inter. On 14 August of the same year, he made his Serie A debut against Spezia, steadily increasing both his playing time and appearances, finishing the campaign with 21 league outings. The 2023/24 season proved to be his breakthrough campaign. He made 31 appearances, scored his first professional goal against Sassuolo on 26 November 2023, and established himself as one of the most talented and promising young Italian midfielders in Serie A.

After recording 22 appearances, 6 goals and 2 assists during the 2024/25 season, he joined Fiorentina. With the Viola, he made 32 appearances across Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Europa League, helping the club reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

A regular at every level of Italy’s youth national teams, he also represented the Italy Under-21 side at last summer’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia.

A versatile midfielder, Fazzini can operate in several roles thanks to his technical quality and athleticism, playing both as a central midfielder and as an attacking midfielder. Agile and quick, he combines excellent vision with close control, possesses strong dribbling ability and has a natural instinct for making forward runs into the box.
