
Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the acquisition of the right to the sporting performances of the footballer Harry Winks who moves permanently from Leicester City and has signed a contract that binds him to the rossoblù colors until 30 June 2028.
Born in Hemel Hempstead, England, born in 1996, thanks to his good basic technique and tactical intelligence, he can play multiple roles in midfield: playmaker in front of the defense or, if necessary, midfielder. Vision of the game, skilled in both phases, has a good ability to insert himself which allows him to be treacherous even in front of goal.
Raised in Tottenham’s academy, he made his first team debut at just 18 years of age, in the home win against Partizan (1-0) in the Europa League, on 27 November 2014. From there he began his long and prestigious journey with the “Spurs” which led him to collect 203 games in the league, national cups and international competitions – Champions League and Europa League – with 5 goals and 6 assists.
In the summer of 2022, he moved to Italy to play for Sampdoria, where he made 20 Serie A appearances. He then returned to his homeland, joining Leicester City, where he made his debut on August 6, 2023, in a home win against Coventry City. The following October, he scored his first goal for the “Foxes,” the decisive goal in the 2-1 victory over QPR. He would be a key figure in the team’s return to the Premier League. He now leaves Leicester after three seasons, in which he made 109 appearances, scoring five goals and providing five assists.
After having completed his entire career in the national youth selections, Winks has collected 10 appearances and 1 goal with the senior English national team. The midfielder now joins the rossoblù to put his quality and experience, gained at the highest levels, at the service of the team.
