Iliev joins Cosenza

Cagliari Calcio announces that it has sold the right to the sporting performances of the player Velizar-Ilia Iliev, who is moving to Cosenza Calcio with the formula of loan with right of redemption which becomes obligation upon the occurrence of certain sporting conditions.

Arriving in Sardinia in the summer of 2021, the Bulgarian goalkeeper, born in 2005, grew up in the Club’s youth sector until joining the Primavera. With the Under 20 team he stood out thanks to his technical qualities, personality and reliability between the posts, contributing significantly to the team’s results.

One of the key players in the historic 2024/25 Coppa Italia Primavera title, after starting last season with the first team, he enjoyed a new experience – his first as a professional – continuing his development at Audace Cerignola in Serie C: an excellent year with 27 total appearances, reaching the playoffs and a significant background, consistently used as a starter.
