MATCH REPORT | Cagliari-Arezzo 1-0

Cagliari defeated Arezzo 1-0 to secure a place in the round of 32 of the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa. Alessandro Deiola’s goal, a penalty kick after a retaken, decided the match at Unipol Domus.

The rossoblù started off trying to take control of the match and in the 19th minute they won a penalty for a foul on Deiola. The same captain appears from the spot: Nunziante rejects, but the VAR reports the early entry into the area of ​​an Arezzo player and decrees the replay. At the second opportunity Deiola makes no mistake and in the 22nd minute he puts Cagliari ahead with a shot from eleven meters which this time goes past the visiting goalkeeper. At the start of the second half a good opportunity arrived to close out the match: in the 50th minute Borrelli received it on the edge of the area, but the shot missed the target. Arezzo tries to increase the pressure, but Cagliari maintains the advantage and in the end becomes dangerous again with Felici, whose conclusion ends up on the goal. After the 1-0 success, Cagliari advances to the round of 32 of the Italian Cup, where they will face the winner of the match between Verona and Entella at home.
