Adam Obert speaks to the reporters’ microphones after Cagliari’s victory against Parma on their debut day in Serie A 2026/2027.

SPECIAL VICTORY
“We’re also happy because it’s been many years since we won the first match of the season. It’s always tough in Parma, so we dedicate the victory to Trepy after the difficult week we’ve had. It was extra motivation to work hard every day. I’m happy with the performance of all the players; even the new ones have settled in well, and it showed.”

CAGLIARI AGAIN: THE CHOICE
I heard about Lens’ offer, but I’m determined to stay here, playing with my teammates and with the Coach, who gives me so much confidence. I have a lot of room for improvement and I want to work with the group: I feel a strong connection with the Coach, my teammates, and the entire club, and I think it’s the right environment for me to grow further. Will it be my season? The pitch will tell, I’m ready to give it my all, along with the team. I think today was a mature performance from everyone. We were united even when we struggled. In the past, there were times when we struggled and conceded goals. We played very well tonight, and that’s pleasing. Personally, I knew I had to improve on many things, and I knew it all started in my head, so I’ve worked on my courage and self-awareness over the years, day after day, to get to where I am now. But clearly, I have to continue.

THE DUEL ON THE WING
“I always prepare for matches and try to figure out who can play on my side. I saw that today there was a midfielder at the start, and it was a different duel, not so much with the balls going deep but with him looking for the ball more. Then a winger came on, and it was a more traditional one-on-one duel. We were ready for all the opponents and the various situations, but I didn’t expect this move from Parma at the start. You always have to be ready for any technical and tactical scenario.”
