Cagliari-Juventus, the president Giulini before the match

Speaking to DAZN ahead of the match between Cagliari and Juventus, President Tommaso Giulini discussed the team’s start to the season, the Club’s growth, and the emotions surrounding the *Rossoblù* players currently on duty with their respective national teams.

THE DEPARTURE AND THE WORK OF THE CLUB
“There is the awareness that we are doing well. Last year we already worked to build our future and every day we try to improve. We started off strong, we would like to stay up there as long as possible. Let’s think about one race at a time, then in some time we will see where we have arrived.”

AZZURRI PRIDE
“Seeing Romano and Maldini on the pitch for the full 90 minutes with the Italian national team in Bologna was wonderful. The Coach and I were there, and it was a truly moving experience. It’s a great moment, and we’re trying to savor it for as long as possible. There are other lads who deserve a call-up to the national team, too—I’m thinking of Caprile, who, currently playing backup to Donnarumma, is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in Italian football.”

COHESION AS A VALUE
“In recent years, we have grown increasingly united and have developed in every respect. We have a Club where everyone works towards a common cause rather than for themselves—using Cagliari merely as a vehicle for personal gain. Every member works alongside the others, and the results have been evident on the pitch for the past three years.”

THE CHALLENGE AGAINST JUVENTUS
“We want to take them on by playing to our strengths. We’ve shown we can do it, and we’ll try—as always—to leave everything on the pitch, stay in the game until the very end, and make our mark by playing our own way.”

MALDINI’S FUTURE
Finally, a brief comment on the contract situation of Daniel Maldini, who has enjoyed a particularly strong start to the season: “We hold an option to buy and an obligation triggered by a specific number of goals. How many? Sporting Director Accardi will tell you the exact figure in due course,” the president concluded with a smile before kick-off.
