All set for the Medianet Trophy

Youth Sector - 29 May 2024

A high-level international tournament to bring an exciting season to a close. On Saturday 1 June, the Unipol Domus will host the Medianet Trophy, a youth event reserved for the Under-16 category that will see the best athletes from the island compete, two of the most flourishing nurseries in the Milanese hinterland and one of the largest youth sectors in the Ile de France.

Competing for the trophy, in a formula that includes a phase with a double triangular and three dry challenges to determine the final classification, will be Cagliari, Alghero, Rappresentativa LND Sarda, Club Milano, Mazzo di Rho and Fc Rueil Malmaison for an event that promises to be of great interest.

However, the Medianet Trophy will not only be a prestigious football event, but also an opportunity to end the sports season with an event that aims to combine competition, passion and friendship between young athletes of different nationalities. An opportunity for the participating youngsters to measure themselves against high-level peers and for fans to enjoy a day of the most wholesome sporting principles.

Bernardo Mereu, head of the Rossoblù youth sector, says: ‘For our boys it is a very valuable opportunity to compare themselves with high-level peers who come from different experiences and different football schools. In general, comparison is always fundamental and tournaments of this magnitude facilitate improvement in the boys’ growth path. It will be a beautiful day of sport, of technical maturation but also of stimulating interpersonal relationships. For this I thank the entire organisational machine and the Medianet partner who made it possible’.

This is how Pierpaolo Puddu, CEO of Medianet, a Sardinian company operating in the telecommunications sector, enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to be an exclusive partner of the tournament: ‘We are pleased to support the organisation of this international youth football tournament in collaboration with Cagliari Calcio, a club with which we share the values of sport, the sense of belonging to our land, and the commitment to helping young people grow and emerge.

The tournament will start at 9.30 am and end at 5.30 pm. The stadium gates will be open exclusively for delegations of participating teams and accredited press.
