🎙️INTERVIEW | Coach Pisacane Receives the “Golden Bridle” Award

Head Coach Fabio Pisacane met with the media in Siena during the presentation of the “Golden Bridle” (La Briglia d’Oro) award, an accolade presented annually by the local branch of the Italian Football Coaches Association (AIAC) to a coach who has distinguished himself through his achievements during the season. Among the reasons cited for the award was “having guided Cagliari to Serie A survival with passion, expertise and outstanding dedication. In addition to his well-known technical abilities, Pisacane has consistently demonstrated undeniable human qualities, facing every difficult challenge life has placed before him with courage and determination.”

The Rossoblù coach made the following statements:

PRIDE AND GRATITUDE
“Over the course of its thirty-three editions, the Golden Bridle has been awarded to many great coaches. When I saw the list of previous winners, I was truly impressed. Receiving this award is therefore even more gratifying, as it means that my staff and I have done a good job. At the same time, it is a recognition that encourages us to raise our standards even further ahead of next season. In football, consistency is what matters most, and we know that very well. Receiving this award today is a source of immense pride and gratitude. I would like to share this joy with my family and with all the people who have accompanied me throughout this personal and professional journey.”

CAGLIARI COMES FIRST
“Being a coach requires many qualities, and one of the most important, in my opinion, is the human aspect. It is a fundamental factor not only in football but in life in general. Wherever there is competition, there must also be a strong sense of responsibility toward oneself, but above all toward others. The attention we have received means that we have worked well, and that is pleasing. Great credit must go to the players. They are the ones who take to the pitch and try to put into practice what we seek to convey. Without them, we would not have achieved anything, and we will continue to rely on them to build upon what we have accomplished. What matters is Cagliari. Cagliari has always been my priority, also out of gratitude to President Giulini, who saw something in me that others had not even dared to imagine.”

FRIENDSHIP WITH NICCOLÒ GIANNETTI
“My connection with Siena is linked to my friendship with Niccolò Giannetti, with whom I shared a great achievement: promotion to Serie A during my first season at Cagliari. That team was capable of winning the Serie B title. Niccolò acted as the link between myself and Andrea Zanchi, President of AIAC Siena. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him and the entire AIAC Siena board for this recognition. When they first told me about it, I was immediately enthusiastic. Besides being delighted by the opportunity to meet again a friend with whom I shared so many battles, Niccolò is an exceptional person with great values. Siena is a city I like very much, even though I have never had the chance to explore it properly, and I am fond of Tuscany in general. I have always felt at home here.”

CONTINUITY IS THE KEY
“Next season will undoubtedly present many challenges, as every Serie A season does. If last year we had one target on our backs, this year we will have two. However, my staff and I are fully aware that we can continue the work we started twelve months ago. In football, only the present matters: everything we achieved before counts for nothing now. We are already ready and motivated to begin the new season and aim for further achievements. We are a group that enjoyed an important season, and now we must prove ourselves again, which is the most difficult thing in football.”
