🎙️INTERVIEW | Zé Pedro with A Bola

Rossoblu defender Zé Pedro spoke exclusively with Portuguese sports newspaper “A Bola.” Below are excerpts from his lengthy interview:

CAGLIARI’S WELCOMING ME
“There had been some contact with Cagliari in the summer, but Porto initially refused to negotiate. Porto is the team of my heart, and has been since I was very young; my entire family has always been goalkeepers. But at this point in my career, I wanted to play more consistently to improve and help my teammates. When the transfer window opened up, Cagliari and several other clubs were interested, but I wanted to play in Serie A; it was a goal. When Cagliari’s offer arrived, I didn’t look anywhere else; I went straight for it. I’m very grateful to the club for the opportunity. Here in Cagliari, I’ve found a wonderful environment: the people were immediately very welcoming, both within the club and among the fans. The city’s residents immediately tried to show me affection, to make me feel at home.”

SERIE A
“It’s undoubtedly a championship that has always fascinated me. I’m having a different experience, a wonderful one. Serie A is an extremely physical and tactical championship. All the matches are very high-level and require maximum concentration, preparation, and great physical condition. I imagined it, but experiencing it is different. It’s part of the adaptation and the experience I gain day after day.”

A YOUNG, QUALITY SQUAD
“Expectations are always high: every player wants to play as much as possible. But I know that adaptation and knowledge of the league are required: every detail counts, every weekend is a real battle. I’m happy with my performance so far, I feel good at Cagliari, and I’m grateful to everyone: president, sporting director, coach, teammates, and staff. The squad has quality, there are some young players who deserve attention, and we’re one of the youngest teams in Serie A. Overall, there’s quality and potential. We have a long road ahead, and we can improve.”
