Akarakiri joins Cagliari

Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the acquisition of Demi Akarakiri, who has signed a contract until June 30, 2030, with an option for a further three seasons.

An English midfielder of Nigerian origins, he was born in London on 29 September 2007. Considered one of the most interesting prospects of his generation, he grew up in the Arsenal academy, where he played from the beginning of his football career until 2023 and then continued his training at Everton, with whom he stood out for his technical qualities, flexibility, personality and constant growth. Midfielder with the typical characteristics of modern midfielders, he combines physical strength and dynamism with the ability to read the game, together with the quality of his dribbling which allows him to be at the heart of the maneuver.

Last season, he made 33 appearances in various Under-18 and Under-21 competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists, cementing his position as one of the most promising players in the Toffees’ youth academy. His performances have also allowed him to gain exposure to senior football. A promising player, Akarakiri joins the Rossoblu to embark on a development journey with the goal of further developing his talent and guiding him through the transition to professional football. His arrival is the result of the Club’s usual efforts with its scouting team, which monitored him closely last season, and the overall synergy between all the teams, aiming to identify talents to build upon for the future.
