Augello awarded the “Italo Galbiati” prize

First Team - 27/01/2025

Tommaso Augello was awarded this evening in Milan during the presentation of the youth football memorial “Italo Galbiati”: a career recognition for the Rossoblù full-back, who grew up at Cimiano Calcio, the Milanese sports club organizing the event, hosted at the Auditorium Banco BPM. The award was presented to him by Andrea Badini, Federico Galli, Tiziano Crudeli, and Agostino Malavasi, respectively the patron, president, vice president, and former vice president of Cimiano Calcio.

Augello grew up in the youth sector of the biancorosso Club, playing on the fields of the sports center on Via Don Giovanni Calabria from a very young age, starting at 6 years old and continuing until he was 16, before making the jump to senior football. This journey led him into the professional ranks, eventually establishing himself in Serie A, where he made over 180 appearances with the jerseys of Sampdoria and Cagliari

EMOTIONAL EVENING
“I am honored to be here in honor of Italo Galbiati, it truly moves me to remember him,” he said on stage and to the media present at the event. “I sincerely thank Cimiano Calcio for this award. Training with him, working individually on a technical level, is something I will carry with me forever. Personally, I did the real hard work in football, starting from the youth academy and moving through amateur football to professionalism, without going through a professional youth sector. Reliving my journey always moves me, which is why every day I work hard to hold on to the highest level I’ve achieved since I was a child

THE ROSSOBLÙ MOMENT
“In Cagliari and beyond, I’ve always fought to stay up, it’s a great challenge because you always have to stay focused. For the fans, it’s a struggle, but surely, this year we will fight until the end, giving everything to stay in Serie A. We had a very positive period at the start of 2025, but the last match in Turin didn’t go well, and we need to forget it and move on. The journey is long, and we will never give up in a season as hard-fought as rarely seen.
