Tommaso Augello gave an interview to La Nuova Sardegna, on newsstands today. Below is an extract of his words.
THE RELATIONSHIP WITH RANIERI
“Coach Ranieri is a person respected by the whole group, both for his charisma and for what he has done in the world of football. He is a serious person who transmits many fundamental values to you in order to grow both on a human and footballing level: he always tells you the truth, treating you with respect, humility and availability. It is an honour to be coached by him.”
THE FEELING WITH CAGLIARI
“I am happy here: I love the sea and the climate of this city. It’s a quiet city where you can spend a lot of time outdoors as I like it, it’s ideal for living here”.
THE ENTHUSIASM WE NEED
“Our fans are special because they represent an entire region that blows you out of the water. Whether at home or away, they are always there in large numbers. This passion is also fuelled by the club and the coach’s decision to hold open-door training sessions and play friendly matches around Sardinia: it is always nice to receive the fans’ embrace and enthusiasm even during the week”.
SALVATION CLASH
“The challenge against Hellas Verona is an important but not decisive one, even if we were to win: we would increase the gap to the third-last team but we still have eight games ahead of us, there is still a long way to go but we will certainly give everything”.
OUT OF THE FIELD
“The value I place on friendship is very high: here at Cagliari, for example, I am well because I have built important relationships that I will always carry with me, beyond football. This, like many others, is one of the values my family and my parents in particular have passed on to me: they are an example for me, now I would hug my father who is no longer here, I’m sure he would be proud of me and where I have come from. My landing in Serie A was his wish”.
