Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the permanent signing from Spezia of the registration rights of Giuseppe Aurelio, who has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2029.
Born in 2000 and originally from Bracciano, Aurelio is a physically strong left-sided player, gifted with dynamism and an excellent ability to push forward. He possesses a good long-range shot and can play both as a full-back and as a wing-back.
Having come through the Sassuolo youth academy, he began his professional career in Serie C with Cesena, Imolese and Gubbio, before joining Pontedera on a permanent basis in the summer of 2022. After an impressive first half of the season, in which he scored four goals, he moved to Palermo in January 2023. He made his Serie B debut there and scored his first goal in the division against Modena on 17 March.
In the summer of 2024, he joined Spezia on loan, enjoying a standout season: he made 30 appearances, scored four goals and helped the team reach the playoff final. His performances earned him a permanent move to the Ligurian club in the summer of 2025. During the 2025/26 season, he continued to make progress, making 33 Serie B appearances, 25 of them as a starter, and scoring six goals.
A career on a steady upward trajectory for a player who has established himself in professional football through experience, consistency and the ability to adapt to different interpretations of his role.
Welcome to the Rossoblù, Giuseppe!
