Cagliari Calcio announce the signing of Raphael Kofler

Cagliari Calcio are delighted to announce the signing of Raphael Kofler from Südtirol. The defender joins the Rossoblù on loan with an obligation to buy upon the fulfilment of certain sporting conditions. Kofler has signed a contract with the Club until 30 June 2032.

A modern centre-back with an imposing physical presence at 193 cm, Kofler is regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in Italian football. Strong in challenges, dominant in the air and comfortable building play from the back, he combines strength, personality and technical quality, allowing him to perform the role with great versatility.

Born in Merano on 26 April 2005, Kofler came through the youth ranks at Südtirol, completing his entire development with the club before becoming a permanent member of the first team in 2023.

He made his professional debut on 14 August 2023 in the Coppa Italia against Sampdoria. Just a few days later, on 20 August, he made his Serie B debut against Spezia. After a first season of gradual integration into the squad, he established himself as one of Südtirol’s key players over the following two campaigns, scoring his first professional goal on 6 December 2024 against Juve Stabia. Overall, he made 74 appearances and scored four goals for the club.
His performances also earned him a call-up to the Italy Under-20 national team, where he scored his first international goal in the victory over Romania on 19 November 2024.
