The partnership between the Foundation and Cagliari Calcio continues for the fourth year in the joint communication campaign in collaboration with FASI and the Sardinian clubs
The Mont’e Prama Foundation is coming to Udine for a conference dedicated to Sardinia’s historical and archaeological heritage. This is the latest in a series of meetings promoted in collaboration with Cagliari Calcio, FASI, and the Foundation, as part of a joint communications campaign combining sport and culture. This fourth season of the campaign aims to publicize and enhance the island’s heritage. The conference, held at the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce, opened with greetings from the President of the Claricini Dornpacher Foundation and President Anthony Muroni, followed by remarks from representatives of FASI, Cagliari Calcio, and the Circolo dei Sardi “Montanaru” of Udine.
“The initiative is part of both the promotion of the Sinis heritage and the joint communications campaign with Cagliari Calcio and FASI,” emphasizes Anthony Muroni, president of the Mont’e Prama Foundation. “This strategic partnership aims to spread awareness of Sardinia’s history and culture, highlighting its age-old identity and fostering a connection between culture and the world of sport. The collaboration with Cagliari Calcio and Sardinian associations in Italy allows us to reach audiences we previously wouldn’t have reached, and Udine represents another key milestone in our project. Every meeting outside the island fuels a dialogue between communities that share values, stories, and passions.”
Every time we present Sardinia’s millennial history beyond its borders, we strengthen awareness of its universal value. Udine is an opportunity to share a heritage that belongs to the Mediterranean and the world.
“We are embarking on this new chapter of a wonderful journey we’ve been on since 2022, with tremendous benefits for everyone,” says Stefano Melis, general manager of Cagliari Calcio. “We are honored to have the Fondazione Mont’e Prama and the Giants with us again this season, in a story of our history that is essential to making Sardinian excellence enduring and increasingly widespread. We’ve experienced so many emotions in recent years traveling around Italy, and we’re starting again with the trip to Udine, thinking about the many projects underway with our academies and in general through the dialogue between our organizations. Sardinia, history, and sport, together, are a driving force of cultural richness that we want to spread as widely as possible, also thanks to Cagliari’s matches.”
“The Giants of Mont’e Prama continue to symbolically travel with us, bringing the power of Sardinia’s ancient history and culture to the Italian cities where our clubs are present,” begins Bastianino Mossa, president of F.A.S.I. “This time, the protagonists will be the Circolo “Montanaru” of Udine and the Sardinian clubs of Friuli Venezia Giulia, which will welcome the Foundation in the prestigious setting of the Udine Chamber of Commerce, a meeting place for communities, institutions, and the business world.
The event represents a significant moment where memory meets current events: an opportunity to strengthen the Sardinian cultural network around the world, promote the Nuragic civilization, and reaffirm how this heritage can translate into cultural tourism, economic development, and pride of belonging.
With this new chapter, F.A.S.I. and the Mont’e Prama Foundation are relaunching their journey toward the future, in keeping with the theme of the upcoming 8th F.A.S.I. Congress – “A domo nostra: Sardinian roots and global horizons.”
The lectures included “Journey into the Prehistory of Sardinia” by Giorgio Murru, director of the Foundation’s scientific and educational department, who took the audience on a tour illustrated with images by Nicola Castangia, and “The Natural Archaeological Park of the Sinis Peninsula” by Ilaria Orri, archaeologist at the Foundation.
