The 2026/2027 season for Cagliari Women was unveiled at Doppio Malto in Cagliari. Ahead of the team’s debut in the Eccellenza championship—scheduled for Sunday in La Maddalena—the club outlined the path forward for both the first team and the women’s youth division, based on a shared vision aimed at consolidating their operations, developing young athletes, and strengthening ties with the local community.

This decision stems from the ownership’s vision and involves every area of the Club in a cohesive manner, with the goal of building a structured path both on and off the pitch. The return of the First Team complements the ongoing daily work with young girls and youth-level squads, ensuring the continued development of the Club’s women’s football program. The project integrates both 11-a-side football and futsal, leveraging the expertise gained within the Club’s youth academy. From the Under-10 to the Under-15 level, young players will develop technical, tactical, and decision-making skills through a shared training curriculum, with the option to subsequently pursue either 11-a-side football or futsal. It is a model that highlights the unique characteristics of both disciplines while placing the growth of each athlete at the core.
An organization that aims to foster dialogue between different age groups and build a development pathway capable of supporting girls from their initial experiences all the way to the senior teams.
CAGLIARI IS SPECIAL
“I wish all the girls the very best of luck. Wearing the Cagliari jersey means representing a rich history and a strong sense of belonging—it requires responsibility, courage, and the desire to always give one’s absolute best. We are starting fresh with the first team, guided by a clear vision: to build a sustainable structure over time, beginning from the grassroots level and creating opportunities for our Under-17 players. We want to forge a solid path that will allow the *Rossoblù* women’s program to grow, season after season.” Max Canzi’s words, upon his return to the Club in a new capacity, following his previous experience as a youth coach and his recent work at the highest levels of women’s football.
READY FOR THE DEBUT IN THE ECCELLENZA LEAGUE
Marco Nieddu, coach of the first team, says: “I would like to thank those who placed their trust in me—the management, the coaching staff working alongside me, and the entire organization. Above all, I want to thank the players themselves; from day one, they have been a source of great satisfaction, and a wonderful chemistry has developed within the group. We can’t wait to get started. Working for Cagliari is something special for everyone—and even more so for us Sardinians. There is a great sense of motivation in trying to build something worthwhile and beautiful together.”
THE PARTNERS
The support of the partners accompanying the *rossoblù* journey is also fundamental. Reach Aut (already a top jersey sponsor last season)—through RA Consulting—will support the athletes and staff of both the first team and the youth academy throughout the season, as will the new arrival, VOI Tanka Village. Meanwhile, Onali Immobiliare, Casa Ortofrutta, and Ittica Berto will provide support for the youth program.
Cagliari Calcio Women is thus preparing for a new season with a vision that bridges the present and the future: the first team returns to represent the *rossoblù* colors, while efforts focused on younger generations are strengthening the foundations for the long-term growth of women’s football in Sardinia.
