Cagliari Calcio announces the renewal of Fabio Pisacane’s contract, which binds him to the club until 30 June 2026, as well as assistant coach Matteo Battilana. The two will thus continue their adventure together at the helm of the Primavera rossoblù.
Pisacane, formerly a Cagliari player from 2015 to 2021 (153 appearances and 5 goals), landed on the Primavera bench in March 2023 for his first experience following those as technical collaborator of the First Team and in the Youth Sector, in between also the victory as interim coach of the First Team, on 26 December 2022 against Cosenza. At the helm of the Primavera team, he immediately achieved salvation by lifting the group’s fortunes in the 2022-2023 season finale. Hence the year that has just passed, with the playoffs vanishing only at the last minute and a tangible path of constant growth of the group and its performers, from a technical-tactical point of view and under a character profile.
“This renewal fills me with pride and is a further source of encouragement that joins the great desire, mine and that of the entire staff, to continue our work by taking on new challenges in the upcoming season,” Pisacane comments. “I thank the club for wanting, through this extension, to recognise my work and that of those who work alongside me. So far we have achieved certain results, at the collective level and on the individual boys, and we consider them a starting point for what lies ahead. Our journey began sixteen months ago, to be able to continue it is an enormous satisfaction, a great responsibility because I recognise myself in these colours and in the values that Cagliari embodies. Let us all move forward together with the utmost commitment and enthusiasm that is fundamental to honouring our jersey, giving it further value and helping the boys with whom I will have the pleasure of working”.
