Cagliari lost to Bologna at the Unipol Domus. The visitors won 2-0 thanks to goals from Casale and Bernardeschi, both of which came in the second half.
The first 20 minutes were slow-paced and the game was very tactical. The first chance of the match came in the 26th minute: Adopo crossed softly from the left for Mendy, who coordinated perfectly and attempted an acrobatic turn, sending the ball a couple of meters wide. Bologna responded in the 30th minute with Odgaard, fed in deep by Bernardeschi: the center forward crossed with his right foot from a very tight angle, but Caprile cleared it for a corner. With no added time, the first half of Cagliari-Bologna ended 0-0.
The second half opened with Bologna taking the lead in the 57th minute: Casale rose to power home Miranda’s corner, beating Caprile. The visitors doubled their lead in the 78th minute. Bernardeschi fired a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the box, but Rodriguez intercepted it with his arm in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Bernardeschi stepped up to take the spot kick himself, sending the ball across the box and sending Caprile the wrong way. The score remained unchanged at the end: Bologna prevailed 2-0 at Unipol Domus. The Rossoblù will return to action on Tuesday at the Olimpico against Roma for their next league match.
