Below is the medical bulletin issued at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, by the “Santissima Annunziata” Hospital in Sassari regarding Rossoblù player Yael Trepy’s condition:
“During the course of the day, as planned, neuromuscular blockade was discontinued and sedation was progressively reduced, with a simultaneous gradual reduction in ventilatory support.
‘The maintenance of optimal respiratory gas exchange made it possible to discontinue mechanical ventilation and proceed with the patient’s extubation in the afternoon,’ said Dr Stefania Milia, Director of the Emergency and Intensive Care Unit at the Santissima Annunziata Hospital of the University Hospital of Sassari.
Upon awakening, the patient showed a full recovery of consciousness: he is alert and cooperative and, at present, shows no evident neurological deficits. His respiratory and haemodynamic conditions are stable.
Given the recent extubation and the pulmonary condition resulting from aspiration syndrome, the patient remains hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit, where he continues to receive close clinical and respiratory monitoring.
Further updates on his clinical condition will be provided according to the evolution of his condition.”
