Following the 2-1 Cagliari-Como match, Andrea Belotti spoke to DAZN. The striker, out since September with a knee injury, was a former player in the match and watched his teammates perform from the stands, like the others, with many players still sidelined with injuries. Here’s his analysis of the match, the team’s current form, and his personal one, as he works to return to full fitness as soon as possible.
PRIDE AND BITTERNESS
“We all knew the importance of the match, the difficulty of facing such a strong opponent, and how hard a goal would be for Seba (Esposito, ed.), given that he hadn’t found the back of the net in a while. He fully deserved it for his commitment, quality, and desire on the pitch, both in matches and in training. We also know that goals are vital for a striker, and when they’re missing, he feels even stronger. However, I’m proud of all the lads; they played brilliantly, and it’s a real shame not to pick up any points after such performances. Let’s keep going because we’re on the right path.”
CLOSER TO BACK
“I’m fine. We’re in the final stages of our recovery process, close to returning to the pitch, and I hope to be available soon to help out in the final stretch of the season. My recovery is progressing well, and I believe my return—if everything goes as planned, as it has so far—can be estimated within a month. The hope is to be able to help the team achieve their goal of staying up. Every game is important, especially from March onward. Every point must be earned by fighting on every pitch, as we did today.”
