Roberto Piccoli and Nadir Zortea were the stars of the post-match interview on the pitch at the U-Power Stadium with Dazn, following Cagliari’s 2-1 victory away at Monza, secured by their goals.
PICCOLI’S WORDS
“Zortea? I’ll leave him the man of the match award, he deserves it. He’s a really strong player who helps both in attack and defense, and he pushes a lot. Only compliments for him, but not too many since we need to focus on the next match right away. A different performance in front of goal compared to last year? Last year, I played a lot less, and this year I feel important. I create a lot of chances, but I still need to improve.”
ZORTEA’S WORDS
“On the field, I never had the feeling that the team was affected by the goal we conceded. We played the right kind of match to come back. We were confident, and we showed that even after going behind. We were patient and clever, and in the end, we held up well. Did I copy Viola’s goal? He scores those kinds of goals every week in training, so let’s just say I didn’t exactly copy him, but I still tried my luck. Sometimes I take those shots, and today it worked out for me, so we’re happy. The crowd? Incredible. When I stepped onto the field, I felt like we were at home. We’re always so happy with our supporters; at home, they give us that extra boost, and even today, away from home, they showed us the same support.”
