Rossoblù goalkeeper Elia Caprile met with journalists after the match at the “Ferraris” against Genoa to analyze the match. These are his words:

THE RECIPE FOR WORK
We failed to keep a clean sheet: that’s something a team like ours, fighting for our objective, can’t afford. It’s something we’ve lacked in other games too, and we need to find it within ourselves as soon as possible. We need to work on it, put in that extra bit of effort. It’s not a tactical issue, or a matter of who’s playing. We need to understand, for example, how important it is to keep a clean sheet in games like this. It was a direct clash, we were playing in a heated stadium, and if you concede early, it’s difficult. We had our chances, it’s true, but if you’re lacking in certain areas, then it’s tough.

TOO MANY NAIVETY
“We played well for forty minutes, between the first half and the early part of the second. We didn’t find the goal, we slumped, and we lost control of the game, conceding some naive goals. This shouldn’t happen. You can lose, but not like this, especially in a direct match. The league says we often need a slap in the face to shake us up, but the problem is that you can’t always recover a game. We need to be more focused on not conceding goals, because if we don’t concede, maybe you’ll win the game.”

THE CAPTAIN’S ARMBAND
“It was an honor to wear the armband this evening, to be the captain. I was hoping for a different match, to be able to celebrate this moment. Instead, I’m disappointed by this defeat, even though this evening will stay with me forever.”

HEAD TO JUVENTUS
Mistakes are repeated; they’re things we need to work on. Only through hard work can we find the right path and overcome this moment. However, we need to work hard. This must be clear. We’re a young group: the journey also involves mistakes and setbacks. We’re focused on our work, but obviously we need to work harder and better. Losing today hurts, but we’re immediately focusing on the next match against Juventus, also looking at the positives that emerged today. We’re called upon to respond on the pitch. We’ll be playing against a strong team, but we’ve already shown in the past that we can cause problems for anyone.
