PRESS ROOM | Viola’s words

First Team - 08/03/2025

A protagonist in the draw at the Unipol Domus against Genoa, Rossoblù playmaker Nicolas Viola spoke to the media after the match. These are his statements:

THE DECISION TO GO INTO CAMP
“The retreat was decided to allow us to meet, work together. After a tough series of three games, very demanding, we had an important match ahead in a short week. Together with the club and the coaching staff, we decided to spend time together right away, work, recover energy, and find the right concentration ahead of the match.”

ONE IMPORTANT POINT
“My goal unlocked the result, it was important, it was what we wanted. In the first half, we played the game as we had prepared it, with a lot of aggressiveness and pressing. A strong first half, with a lot of courage and the desire to take control of the match. It wasn’t easy to continue like that, but that must be our goal: to enjoy ourselves and make our fans enjoy it. In the second half, Genoa came out more, a team that is doing very well: they are fighting for survival, but given their quality, they can aim for higher positions in the standings. It was a balanced match. We take away a point that moves our standings, and it might be crucial to reach our goal. The team is alive, and they proved it.”

THE FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL
“With Piccoli, we’re starting to connect more and more often, the understanding is growing, and I’m happy about that. Today, he made the assist, and I’ll try to return the favor, as it’s my job to put him in the best position to score. To stay up, we have to fight, and we know that very well. We also know there are situations and aspects where we still need to grow and improve. We’ll talk about that starting tomorrow. Especially at home, in front of our fans, we always want to win to bring joy to the supporters. I’m convinced that it will happen again soon.”

THE CHALLENGE AT THE OLIMPICO
“We are a team that tries to play proactive football, with aggression. Even against Roma, we will approach the game head-on. It will be a difficult match, it will be a battle, but with great respect, we will play our game.”

A SPECIAL DEDICATION
“My celebration after the goal? This week we lost a young Rossoblù fan, Leonardo, who was only 6 years old. The mask I wore was his favorite. As a team, we wanted to honor him with this small gesture and show our support to the family.”
