Primavera 1 | Cagliari-Bologna 1-3

Cagliari Under 20 lost at the CRAI Sport Center in Assemini against Bologna on the second matchday of the Primavera 1 Championship. Alberto Gallego’s Rossoblù played a lively game and equalized through Sugamele, but the Emilians managed to regain the lead before halftime and sealed the win in the second half through Lo Monaco. Cagliari started aggressively and caused problems for the visiting defense in the opening minutes. In the 8th minute, Franceschelli was forced to respond to a free kick from the sidelines, while four minutes later, the Bologna goalkeeper was forced to deny Cardu, who was set up by a pass from behind. In the 13th minute, the Rossoblù also found the back of the net, but Sugamele rebounded after Cardu’s save from an offside position.

Bologna tries to respond and in the 22nd minute breaks the deadlock: Zanella finds Negri with a through ball, who inserts himself behind the defense and crosses with precision for the 1-0. Cagliari reacted immediately and found the equalizer in the 29th minute. Cardu frees Sugamele with his heel, who opens his right foot from the edge of the area and sends the ball into the far corner, where Franceschelli cannot reach. The equilibrium lasts a few minutes. In the 36th minute Bologna takes the lead again: Zanella serves Toroc in depth, the attacker passes Grandu and Kehayov and deposits the ball in the empty net. At the end of the half, Bologna also came close to scoring the third goal, but Kehayov surpassed himself on Lo Monaco’s close-range shot. Before the break there is still room for an important episode: in full injury time the referee awards a penalty to Bologna for a challenge by Kehayov on Lo Monaco. The same attacker appears from the spot, but the rossoblù goalkeeper senses it and manages to block the conclusion in two halves. We go to half-time at 2-1. At the start of the second half Gallego brought on Bahlaouan in place of Lo Verde. Bologna restarted with greater conviction and in the 50th minute Kehayov had to intervene to deny Krasniqi the chance to find the trio. The guests continue to push and come close to scoring with Lo Monaco and Zanella. The 3-1 comes in the 62nd minute. Negri verticalizes for Krasniqi, who extends with a heel for Lo Monaco. The attacker controls, passes Kehayov and deposits the ball into the empty net. Cagliari tries to react with substitutions and tries to reopen the match. In the 73rd minute Pibiri arrives at the back and puts a ball in tow for Sugamele, who however is unable to finish cleanly. Costa and Barry also enter at the end, but Bologna manages the advantage without allowing any great opportunities. In the 95th minute Franceschelli blocked Costa’s attempt and, a minute later, the final whistle blew. Bologna thus achieved their second consecutive victory, while Cagliari remained stuck on three points after the first two matchdays.
