An important victory for Alberto Gallego’s *Rossoblù* side, who defeated Como at the CRAI Sport Center in an action-packed encounter. After De Paoli gave the visitors the lead, Cagliari responded by turning the match around through goals from Costa and Sugamele. In the second half, Tronci added a third, and although De Paoli struck again to bring Como back into the game, the Sardinian side held firm until the final whistle—aided by some decisive saves from Kehayov.
MATCH REPORT
Lively start at the CRAI Sport Center, with the two teams immediately willing to face each other head on. Cagliari becomes dangerous in the 9th minute with Costa, who finishes weakly after a melee in the area resulting from an initiative by Akarakiri. In the 12th minute Kehayov was attentive to Zamagni’s volley, while in the 17th minute it was the guests who broke the deadlock: following a short corner, a precise cross reached De Paoli, who reached the far post and headed the score to make it 0-1. The rossoblù reaction is immediate. In the 22nd minute Lo Verde shoots from distance, Damioli clears it short and Costa is the quickest to pounce on the ball, scoring the equalizer with the goal practically unguarded. Cagliari gains confidence and completes the comeback in the 30th minute: Sugamele takes advantage of an error in the clearance phase, advances to the edge of the area and with a precise right-footed shot, aimed at the edge of the post, beats the Larian goalkeeper for 2-1. The race remains open and close. Como tries to react, while the rossoblù try to exploit the spaces to strike again. We go to half-time with Cagliari ahead by one goal.
THE SECOND HALF
The second half opens with some changes in Como’s ranks, determined to take control of the match. The Larians increased possession and in the 57th minute they created a great opportunity with Papaccioli, who entered the area and shot flat, but was met with an extraordinary response from Kehayov. The rossoblù goalkeeper repeats himself in the 70th minute, when De Paoli lets loose a shot from distance destined for the top corner: Kehayov flies and deflects with a spectacular intervention, maintaining his team’s advantage. Having escaped the danger, Cagliari strikes in the 74th minute. Sugamele recovers the ball, flies towards the back and serves a perfect ball back to Tronci, who makes no mistake from a few steps away and scores the 3-1. Como, however, does not give up. Two minutes later De Paoli finds a way to score again with a header with a mocking trajectory, bringing the guests back to 3-2 and completely reopening the match. In the final, the Como team looked for an equaliser, but Cagliari defended their precious advantage with determination. After four minutes of injury time, the final whistle arrives: the rossoblù win a victory of character, at the end of an intense match full of reversals.
