The Rossoblu Under-20 team’s positive streak comes to an end, defeated 2-1 by Cremonese at the CRAI Sport Center. Down two goals after 25 minutes, after halving the deficit with a Sulev penalty, Cagliari tried everything in the second half, but were met with a resolute and stubborn defense. Goalkeeper Cassin, having a great day, completed the rest.

CREMONESE RUTHLESS ON THE COUNTER
New signing Mawassa scored his first goal. The opening stages were evenly matched, with Cagliari trying through Tronci and Mendy, but without success. However, Cremonese took the lead on their first attempt: a lethal low shot from Lickunas, Kehayov diving to his right but unable to reach it, the ball going into the corner.
The Rossoblu reacted immediately, Goryanov breaking into the box, but was stopped by the Lombardy defenders. Cremonese, however, struggled on the counterattack: Marino capitalized on the two-on-two situation, with a shot that hit the far post and ended up in the back of the net. 2-0 in the 24th minute.

SULEV CLOSES THE SCORING LINE WITH A PENALTY
Cagliari doesn’t give up: Sugamele heads the ball to Mendy, who beats the goalkeeper with a lob, hits the crossbar but is knocked down by an advancing Cassin. The referee points to the spot. Sulev converts with a tight angled shot, Cassin guesses but misses.

SECOND HALF ON THE ATTACK
Cagliari immediately attacked in the second half: Sugamele curled a shot, but Cassin leaped and dived to save. The Rossoblu’s good intentions were shattered by the wall erected by Cremonese in their own goal. Mendy’s attempt was weak in the 62nd minute, but Cassin saved confidently. The visiting goalkeeper took center stage in the 66th minute when he miraculously prevented an own goal from a teammate who had deflected the ball toward goal. Hamdaoua came on for Goryanov. In the 70th minute, a fearful scramble arose in the Cremonese penalty area following a corner kick, with Hamdaoua finishing with a shot that was fortunately deflected out for a corner.

CASSIN’S GREAT SAVE
Pisano makes a change in attack: Costa replaces Mendy, while Roguski replaces Malfitano. Later, Cardu comes on for Tronci. Sulev tries to find the far corner from outside the area, but misses. In the 88th minute, Sulev again crosses from the right, but Prendi deflects the ball, and Cassin miraculously sends it out for a corner.
Not even in the six minutes of injury time allowed by the referee, did Cagliari find the key to even grabbing an equalizer. Sugamele’s shot is deflected for a corner, and Grandu’s shot from outside the area flies past the post. The scoreline is 2-1 for Cremonese.

The Rossoblù are scheduled to travel to Juventus on Saturday.
