It was a bitter midweek match for the Rossoblu Under-20s, defeated 3-1 by Torino at the Valentino Mazzola stadium in Orbassano. The result was a disproportionate punishment for Cagliari, who had a positive performance and deserved to leave the match with a point. In addition to several good chances, Albarracin also struck the crossbar in the first half. The Uruguayan had earlier scored the goal that temporarily equalized.

LIVELY MATCH, ALBARRACIN SCORES
Cagliari’s first chance, Mendy’s shot, following a mistake by Pellini, is saved by the goalkeeper.
Kehayov had a more difficult save, leaping to his left in the 7th minute to clear the ball from the top corner.
Torino took the lead in the 17th minute with a header from Ewurum from inside the box. The equalizer didn’t take long to arrive: in the 21st minute, Albarracin received the ball on the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that Santer couldn’t control. The match was lively, Torino attacking, but Cagliari responded blow for blow.
In the 31st minute, Gabellini’s overhead kick was weak, but Kehayov was no problem.
Malfitano had a golden opportunity in the 38th minute: the Rossoblu midfielder found himself alone in front of Santer, whose right-footed shot was saved by the Turin goalkeeper.
Cagliari were unlucky in the 45th minute, when Albarracin’s curling shot crashed into the top of the crossbar with Santer beaten.

HOMES ATTACK
Torino came back at full speed in the second half. Sandrucci had a good chance to score the penalty, assisted by Ballanti, but he fired over. Shaken by the danger, Cagliari responded immediately: Riekerink couldn’t reach the area in time to deflect Grandu’s splendid cross from the left.
Torino threatened in the 67th minute, when Gabellini turned on the edge of the box and aimed for the far corner, narrowly missing.
In the 73rd minute, Pisano brought in fresh energy with a triple substitution: Russo, Prettenhofer, and Sulev were replaced by Roguski, Doppio, and Marini.

ONE-TWO FOR GRANATA
In the 78th minute, Torino regained the lead: Ferraris’s central run culminated in a low shot, which, deflected slightly by Marini, slipped into the corner out of Kehayov’s reach.
Sugamele and Hamdaoua came on for Raterink and Malfitano. Torino resisted Cagliari’s desperate attacks and rounded off the scoreline in the second minute of stoppage time. Tronci and Gabellini collided in the penalty area, and the Rossoblu appeared to touch the ball, resulting in a penalty. Gabellini himself sent Kehayov the wrong way and sealed the match.
Monza arrives at the CRAI Sport Center on Sunday.
