Primavera, Pisacane before Cagliari-Cesena

Youth Sector - 8 February 2025

The coach of the Cagliari Primavera team, Fabio Pisacane, presents the challenge of his boys against Cesena. The match will kick off tomorrow at 11:00 at the Crai Sport Center.

IN THE MOMENT
“We come from two important results: a draw in Rome against Lazio, and qualification in the Coppa Italia earned against Fiorentina. For me, though, this isn’t enough. Here, we don’t celebrate individual results; we work to build something great. To do that, we need hunger, consistency, and mentality: tomorrow’s match against Cesena will show us who we really are. Tomorrow, as always, I want a fierce team, one that is never satisfied. I’ve told the guys that a winning mentality isn’t seen in big matches, but in games like tomorrow’s, because in football, nothing is ever taken for granted.”

THE OPPONENT
“Cesena is a team that deserves respect. They’ve had more days to prepare for this match and will come with great intensity. They are an organized, compact team that knows how to defend well and counter-attack quickly. They have dynamic players who know how to exploit spaces, and we’ll need to be good at not conceding open-field situations. Also, they are dangerous on set pieces, so we’ll need to be extremely focused: I don’t want excuses, I don’t want any alibis. Have we played a lot? Good. That means we are still in the race on multiple fronts. This is the football of those who want to reach the top. No one should think about saving energy; when you have a goal, every match is a final.”

SON INDIVIDUAL PLAYER
“Tomorrow, Nunn, Langella, and Achour will be absent due to physical issues, along with Marcolini who is missing due to suspension, but we are getting Bolzan back.”
