Cagliari Calcio has ratified the appointment of Stefano Melis as General Manager of the club, effective 1 July 2024. He will continue to lead the business and media area of Cagliari Calcio, one of the three – along with the corporate and sports areas – that make up the red and blue corporate structure.
Director of the business and media area since November 2022, Stefano Melis has been at Cagliari since 2018, first as commercial director and later as director of strategic development, before taking on increasingly broader and more direct responsibilities on marketing and communication areas, revenue lines and the new stadium project. Born in Lanusei in 1979, his career path includes experience at Real Madrid in the marketing and new technologies sector, then positions of responsibility in the commercial area of Nike, Puma and Vans. For Nike, he was also Global brand director football, from 2015 to 2018, overseeing projects within the framework of major international football events such as the World Cup, European Championships and Champions league. From 2019 to 2024, he was a member of the Board of Directors of FLUORSID.
