A special eve of Udinese-Cagliari: Roberto Muzzi, former Cagliari striker and now the technical coordinator for the Primavera and U18 teams, along with Nicola Riva, were guests at the Sardi “Montanaru” Club, a key gathering place for many Sardinians and fans based in Udine and the Friuli region. The evening was a blend of nostalgic memories and the present, all centered around the shared passion for Cagliari.
Founded in 1977 and renamed in 2006 after Montanaru – the poet Antonio Giuseppe Casula – the Circolo dei Sardi hosts the Cagliari Club Udine, where the rossoblù heart beats strong during matchdays, alongside various cultural and social activities, many of which are carried out in collaboration with FASI.
On the occasion of tomorrow’s match, the Circolo will also host a “third half” between the two fan groups: the Cagliari Club Udine and the Cagliari Club Gorizia, together with the Udinese Club, for a display of fan support based on fair play and the healthiest values of sport.
“The love of the people for our colors is always something that moves us,” comments Roberto Muzzi. “Seeing so many Sardinians who have been away from the island for many years welcoming us with so much affection gives us a huge motivation to give our best every day. A heartfelt thank you for everything you do for us around the world.”
Nicola Riva recalls how “Sardinia, and Sardinians, are everywhere, and you always find incredible warmth. I love experiencing these moments during Cagliari’s matches, remembering my father, that magnificent team, but more generally, the entire rossoblù world for which we all cheer together. A big thank you to those who, even today, welcomed us with such moving affection.”
