Defeat for the rossoblù at the Unipol Domus, where Inter beat Cagliari thanks to second-half goals from Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez, and a penalty by Calhanoglu.

THE LINE-UP
Nicola opts for a 4-4-2 formation with Augello and Zortea playing wide, and Gaetano supporting Piccoli up front. In midfield, Makoumbou and Adopo will anchor the midfield, while Scuffet leads the defense with Zappa, Luperto, Mina, and Obert.

FIRST HALF BALANCED
The opening phase saw few real chances, with Cagliari threatening briefly when Adopo’s shot in the 18th minute was deflected out for a corner. In the 29th minute, Lautaro Martinez fired high from a good position in the box. Overall, there were very few opportunities for either team in a first half that played out like a chess match, with both sides cautious and unwilling to leave themselves exposed.

INTER CLAIM THE WIN
At halftime, Cagliari made the first forced substitution, with Mina going off for Wieteska. The second half was dominated by Inter. In the 54th minute, Barella found Bastoni at the far post, and the defender’s header looped into the net to give the visitors the lead.
Cagliari responded with a double substitution in the 59th minute, as Marin and Pavoletti replaced Obert and Gaetano. However, Inter doubled their lead in the 72nd minute, with Lautaro Martinez finishing a cross from Barella.
