At the end of the match against Torino, the Rossoblù defender Sebastiano Luperto spoke to the media microphones.
A TOUGH MATCH
“We were up against a great team, but we certainly didn’t play this match in the best possible way: for example, we were always late to the second balls. We should have taken different approaches on the field, but we couldn’t manage it, partly due to the merits of the opponent, to whom we must give credit. There’s not much more to say: this is a match that should teach us an important lesson, but once we’ve analyzed the mistakes made, we need to quickly move on and start thinking about the next one.”
REGRET AND AWARENESS
“The early goal we conceded immediately changed the course of the game, but I’d say we just weren’t there today. We didn’t have the right intensity, we never pressed properly, and we were chasing the opponents, suffering from their physicality. They moved the ball quickly, frequently swapped positions, and that took away our points of reference. We could have definitely done much better. It was a wrong game for us. We came from 7 points in 3 matches, and we could have taken another step forward. But that didn’t happen, and there’s regret.”
CONFIDENCE IN THE TEAM
“On the second goal, from my point of view, the striker fouls me: he pushes with both hands on my back and unbalances me while I’m jumping. But the referee let it go, and I accept the decision. It’s a setback, but there are still many games to play. We’ll analyze the mistakes we made and then move forward quickly. We’ll focus on preparing for the next match. Lazio is a very strong team, in good form, and they play well, but we’ll be ready. I have a lot of confidence in this team, in my teammates.”
