The rossoblù full-back Tommaso Augello spoke to the media following the match against Juventus at Unipol Domus.
A LOT OF REGRET
“There is regret: we stayed in the game until the end, it would have taken just one moment to equalize. We could have believed more in the draw, taking more risks in the final stages. It’s disappointing for the result, for our fans: yesterday in the warm-up they gave us a great boost, and today they supported us a lot. We knew it was a highly emotional match, but we weren’t able to give our people the joy they deserved. Our fans always support us, at home and away, having them by our side is very important.”
THE MATCH ANALYSIS
“In the first half, we had some difficulty pressing them; they had control of the game and deservedly took the lead. In the second half, we gained more ground and, taking advantage of their drop in intensity, we had our chances to equalize, even though we conceded some dangerous counter-attacks. We could have certainly done more in both phases of the game: we spent a lot of energy, especially in the first half. Overall, we should have attacked the box better, but towards the end, we were a bit tired and not very sharp. I, for one, lacked quality in my crosses, especially in the final part of the match, where fatigue caught up with me. Nevertheless, we must give credit to Juventus, they played a great game.”
SOLIDITY AND AWARENESS
“It’s normal that sooner or later, other teams involved in the relegation battle will start picking up points. We need to focus on ourselves: today’s result certainly doesn’t undermine our good run, which is in line with our goal. We are a solid team, capable of making life difficult for anyone. The path is the right one: we need to continue like this, doing what we’ve shown we can do, especially in this 2025. Our self-esteem has grown, we’ve found a good balance, even though there’s still room to improve. Other teams are also equipped to fight for survival, but we never give up and will fight until the end. If we keep going like this, we’ll get the points we need to stay up. Now, our focus is on Bologna, to close a difficult three-game stretch. We played a great game in Bergamo, and we can repeat that performance next Sunday in Emilia to bring home some important points for the standings.”
