Cagliari Calcio announces the permanent acquisition of the registration rights of the player Sebastiano Di Paolo from Siracusa, who has signed a contract until June 30, 2029, with an option to extend the contract for a further two seasons. The player will remain on loan at Siracusa until June 30, 2026.
Born in Pescara in 2006 and raised in Francavilla, Di Paolo is a left-footed winger skilled in one-on-one situations and in finding the perfect play to enhance the attack and finish. Primarily deployed on the right flank, he also plays on the opposite flank, providing a variety of technical and tactical options. Having developed at Alcyone Francavilla, he joined Torino’s youth team in 2021, making 71 appearances for the Granata, scoring eight goals and five assists between the Under-17 and Under-18 levels. This was followed by his move to Siracusa. On January 19, 2025, he scored his first senior goal, coming off the bench in a 4-1 victory over Nissa. His Serie D debut for Siracusa came on September 15, 2024, against Ragusa. Worthy of note are his two further goals in the five matches of the Scudetto Round of 16. With the Sicilians, promotion to Serie C would come, marking his debut in professional football: on August 16th, he made his Serie C Coppa Italia debut in Foggia, and on the 25th of the same month, his league debut in Salerno. On October 25th, he scored the first of four goals in 18 league games so far: in the 4-1 win against Casarano, the others coming against Team Altamura, Salernitana, and Benevento just last Sunday.
A significant and steady growth path has made him one of the most interesting prospects in Italian football, first in youth football and then in the lower leagues. Over the past few seasons, he has stood out for his consistent performances, personality, and technical ability, attracting the attention of several scouts. The loan will allow the young player to continue his development, gaining valuable experience before arriving in Sardinia.
Congratulations and good luck for the rest of the season, Sebastiano.
