Prettenhoffer Joins Cagliari

Cagliari Calcio announces that it has exercised its option to acquire the sporting rights of Márton Prettenhoffer on a permanent basis from ETO Győr. At the same time, the young Hungarian player, born in 2008, has signed a new contract that will keep him with the Rossoblù until June 30, 2028, with an option in favor of the Club to extend the agreement for a further four seasons.

A left-footed defender with a strong physical presence—standing 189 cm tall—Prettenhoffer is capable of playing both as a centre-back and as a left-back. He joined Cagliari’s youth academy in the summer of 2024 and made 26 appearances for the Under-17 side, which reached the quarter-finals of the Scudetto play-offs. During the recently concluded season, in addition to featuring for the Under-18 team, he was also part of the Under-20 squad. He made his Primavera 1 debut on December 17, 2025, in a 1–0 home victory over Atalanta. He went on to make 10 appearances, contributing to the team’s performances and results.

A regular member of Hungary’s youth national team setup, Prettenhoffer made his debut for the Hungarian Under-19 side this season, playing in three matches at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
