Ciervo joins Cagliari

Cagliari Calcio announces the signing from Sassuolo of the sporting rights to Riccardo Ciervo, who joins the Rossoblù on loan until the end of the 2026/2027 season, with an option to make the move permanent.

Born in Latina in 2002, Ciervo is a right-footed winger who can play on either flank. He is known for his pace, one-on-one ability and tendency to attack space in behind the defence.

Having come through Roma’s youth academy, he made his Serie A debut in September 2021 with Sampdoria against Napoli, ending his spell with the Blucerchiati with 12 appearances and 2 assists. He joined Sassuolo in 2022 and subsequently gained valuable experience with Frosinone, Venezia, Südtirol, Cosenza and Cesena. In Romagna last season, he made 38 appearances, scoring 5 goals and providing 4 assists — a strong campaign that confirmed his qualities and marked another step forward in his development.

Returning to Sassuolo in the summer of 2026, he made his return to Serie A by coming on late in the opening matchday on 23 August against Atalanta. Now, a new chapter of his career begins, as he looks to bring his pace, unpredictability and ability to create numerical superiority in the attacking third to Cagliari.
