Cagliari suffered a 6-1 defeat away to Inter on Matchday 4 of the Primavera 1 Championship. The Rossoblù reacted after a difficult start, with Cardu pulling one back late in the first half, but the hosts pulled away again after the break.
Inter took control of the game from the outset and opened the scoring in the 8th minute: Rocca’s free-kick took a deflection off the wall and ended up in the back of Kehayov’s net. Cagliari responded with Tronci, whose free-kick was comfortably saved by Galliera. In the 19th minute, the Nerazzurri doubled their lead through D’Agostino, who capitalised on an error in the Cagliari defence, before Matarrese made it 3-0 ten minutes later, following up on a save by Kehayov. Gallego’s side tried to fight their way back into the game and, in the 42nd minute, were awarded a penalty after D’Agostino fouled Sugamele. Galliera saved the striker’s spot-kick, but Cardu was quickest to the rebound and reduced the deficit before half-time.
Cagliari returned from the break with greater intensity, pressing higher and looking to get back into the game. Cardu tried his luck from distance but failed to find the target, while in the 69th minute Sugamele came close with a header that went narrowly wide. A minute later, however, Inter struck again: Sorino hit the post and Carrara reacted quickest to the rebound to make it 4-1. The Rossoblù continued to push, with Sugamele denied by Galliera, but the hosts extended their lead in the closing stages. Carrara scored his second of the game in the 90th minute, before Sorino completed the scoring in stoppage time, following up on another effort that came back off the post.
