First Team - 18/06/2024

Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the contract renewal of the player Kingstone Mutandwa, who has signed a new agreement with the club until 30 June 2027.

Born in Chibombo, Zambia, 21 years old, Kingstone grew up footballingly in the ranks of Atletico Lusaka, where in the 2021-22 season he won the third division scorers’ table with 18 goals and, in the following second league championship, scored 16 goals in 22 matches, thus attracting the attentions of European clubs.

He arrived in red and blue last summer and made his Primavera debut on 2 September 2023 in the home draw (1-1) against Inter Milan. On 17 February 2024, he scored his first double, decisive in the 3-2 win against Torino. Always in the orbit of the first team, with which he worked steadily throughout the season, he made his Serie A debut on 3 March in Empoli (0-1), making his valuable contribution to winning the three points. Last 23 May, on the occasion of Cagliari-Fiorentina, he scored his first Serie A goal with a great shot from outside the box.

One of the strengths of his country’s youth selections, he made his senior national team debut on 11 June in the World Cup qualifying match against Tanzania.

Physical strength and speed at the service of his teammates, a talent to be cultivated.

The future is yours, congratulations King!
