ELETTROSHOCK – The video story of Ranieri Bis

Rossoblù World - 25 June 2024

A video story that sums up a year and a half of great emotions, with an exclusive interview with coach Ranieri – carried out in the same scenario as the famous farewell to Cagliari a little over a month ago – acting as the ‘file rouge’ of the entire production: this is ‘Elettroshock’, a short film just under thirty minutes long that red-blue fans can watch as a preview on the official Cagliari Calcio app (click here to download it); in the next few days it will also be available on the YouTube channel.

As an opening hat, the statements of a young Claudio Ranieri at his debut as coach, when not even forty years old he sat on the bench of Cagliari, making himself the protagonist of two promotions and a salvation never forgotten. His words are framed by unpublished images and exciting ‘backstage’ content, where the protagonists and footage alternate following the chronological order of the season: at the end of the short clip where the feat of last season’s promotion is summed up, it is Leonardo Pavoletti who speaks, recalling the importance of the comeback victory against Frosinone, the first in Serie A of Ranieri bis.

Poignant and emotional are the images linked to the days when the red and blue people bade farewell to Gigi Riva, the eternal legend that Sardinia and the whole of Italy said goodbye to on 24 January. “When Torino arrived, we were emotionally tried and we didn’t manage to play the way we wanted to,” were the coach’s words.

The title – ELETTROSHOCK – was inspired by what happened (and then recounted) at the end of the match lost to Lazio, when coach Ranieri decided to resign, later withdrawn: ‘The boys needed it. Real turning point of the season.

In a seesaw of tensions, joys and a few hiccups along the way – from the exodus at Monza to the great performances with Atalanta and Inter – they arrived at the decisive challenge at Reggio Emilia, which sanctioned mathematical salvation. Here is the behind-the-scenes speech by President Giulini, who, before taking the flight back to Sardinia, wanted to thank the guys for what they did during the championship.

The video ends with post-Cagliari-Fiorentina images and the tribute of the packed Unipol Domus for coach Ranieri, his staff and the whole team.

ELETTROSHOCK is a team effort involving several professionals linked to the Club: the images were realised and produced by Eja Tv, Cagliari’s service provider, with the supervision and coordination of the Club’s Business&Media area.
