Cagliari wins the salvation clash and expels the Mapei Stadium with goals from Prati and Lapadula in the second half. IS STILL SERIES A.

Ranieri chooses Scuffet in goal; in defense Zappa, Mina, Dossena and Augello; in midfield Sulemana and Deiola in the middle with Nandez on the right and Gaetano on the left; forward Shomurodov to support Lapadula.

Sassuolo’s first real chance of the match in the 25th minute: Pinamonti took advantage of a cross from the right, but his header ended just wide of Scuffet. In the 32nd minute, Cagliari’s maneuvered action with Zappa finding Shomurodov in the middle: the striker’s header is high. Lapadula also tried in the 38th minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box, but the ball finished just wide to Consigli’s left. The big red and blue chance came in the 43rd minute with Shomurodov controlling and shooting on the volley: the ball went just high. We go to rest at 0-0.

Cagliari changes in the 46th minute: out goes Shomurodov and in comes Luvumbo. The second half starts as slow as the first: in the 58th minute Lapadula, searched in the area by Deiola, finds Zappa in tow who kicks right-footed but Consigli makes it his own. In the 65th minute it is Pinamonti in acrobatics who goes close to the net. A minute later, double change for the Rossoblù: out go Gaetano and Deiola, in come Prati and Viola. The Rossoblù lead came in the 71st minute: Matteo Prati unlocked it, after a spat and rebound in the penalty area the midfielder was served by Dossena and placed it left-footed behind Consigli. In the 86th minute out came Augello and in came Prati.

Nandez, a minute later, finds the big play on Doig, serves Sulemana in the air, who kicks just wide. A minute from the 90th minute, the Uruguayan – among the best on the field – gives way to Di Pardo. In the 91′ comes the explosion of Rossoblù joy with Gianluca Lapadula who gets a penalty and from the penalty spot closes the game and the salvation talks. The celebration can begin: Cagliari remains in Serie A!
